JOIN THE STAR COUNCIL?

With our AGM coming up on 16th July, nominations are being invited from STAR members who would like to stand for election as a director on the STAR Council.

The Council is always keen that there is a good mix of skills and experience around the table to reflect the breadth and diversity of the membership.

There are nine seats for elected directors on the Council. One director resigned last year and five directors (James Broderick - Sadler's Wells, Andrew Collier - Family Tickets, Pauline Fallowell - Bridge Theatre, Keith Kelly - The Lowry and Quay Tickets and Rebecca Molloy - Bristol Old Vic) reach the end of their term. Only Rebecca is eligible to stand again for re-election. This means there will be six vacancies open for election this year.

Anyone standing for election will be asked to submit a short biography and photograph with their nomination as well as indicating why they wish to stand and what sector(s) of the industry they would particularly cover.

Details of the current Council can be seen at:

https://www.star.org.uk/about/star-council/

A job description for Council members can be found here.  If you would like any further information or a discussion about what joining the STAR Council involves, please contact Jonathan Brown or have a word with any of the current members of the Council.

Nominations should be submitted online using the button below. Each person standing will need to be proposed and seconded by STAR members.  Both the proposal and nomination will be checked on receipt.  The closing date for nominations is 6pm on Friday 20 June.

Elections will be by an electronic ballot taking place between 9am on Tuesday 8 July and 6pm on Friday 11 July. The results will be announced by email to members on Monday 14 July in advance of the  AGM which takes on Wednesday 16 July.

Details of those standing for election will be sent out to members on 23 June . The primary STAR contact in each member organisation will receive details of instructions for the online voting system on 3 July.
