How to make a complaint about your ticket purchase

The great majority of ticket purchases go smoothly, but occasionally things can go wrong.  If you've had a problem in buying your tickets, you can consider taking this action:

In the first place, contact the box office or agent from whom you bought your ticket(s); most problems can be sorted out by the original ticket seller. If you get no response or are unhappy with the response you are given, then

  • If the ticket seller is a member of STAR you can address your complaint to us:

Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers
    PO Box 708
    St Leonard's Place
    YORK
    YO1 0GT
  • Phone: 01904 234737
    Email: info@star.org.uk
or use the online complaint form on this website

If you e-mail STAR or use the online contact form, please try to summarise your complaint as briefly and clearly as possible. Please tell us about any correspondence or discussions you have already had with the ticket seller.  You may be asked to provide copies of correspondence to help any investigation into your complaint, but please do not attach any emails or other correspondence at this stage; we will ask you if we need to see anything.

  • If the seller is not a member of STAR:

Contact your local Trading Standard office. You can find this through the Trading Standards Institute website www.tradingstandards.gov.uk
