Just Tick It

JUST TICK IT
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) today relaunched its 'Just Tick It' campaign warning consumers
about fraudulent ticket websites. Supported by a host of musical
and sporting celebrities, the OFT campaign coincides with new
research which reveals that one in twelve ticket buyers admit to
having been caught out by fake ticketing sites with victims losing
an average of £80 each.
Jonathan Brown, Secretary of the Society of Ticket Agents &
Retailers (STAR) commented on the problem of fraudulent
websites:
"There are lots of dodgy websites out there, offering tickets
for concerts and shows at highly inflated prices, or selling
tickets that might not even exist. It's very easy to create a
website that looks classy and reputable - but that doesn't mean
it's law-abiding or will definitely supply you with what you think
you are buying.
"One guarantee of getting a genuine ticket is to buy from a
member of STAR. Our members sign up to a strict Code of Practice
and they must provide clear and transparent information about the
tickets on sale. STAR members are committed to excellent customer
service and, if something does go wrong, STAR will step in to offer
an independent means of redress."
